Sean Rice Won the 2011 ASKR race

Last year's winner Sean Rice from South Africa won this year as well, in front of Dawid Mocke (also from South Africa) and Joep van Bakel from the Netherlands. These three was the biggest favourites for this years race.
Joep van Bakel had the best start, but after 15 km he slowed a wee behind. Dawid and Sean stayed together for another 8 - 9 km but Sean dropped Dawid about 6 km from the finish.

This years price boat from Tequila

This years price boat - drawn among all who participates at askr, and finish both ramble and marathon(race) or camp (all five days), is a Zegul 520.

Three giants to askr

surfski_illustrasjon2 Dawid Mocke, Sean Rice and Joep van Bakel have confirmed their participation at this year's World Cup. All three of them are huges names in surfski and we are delighted to welcome them to ASKR. Sean Rice participated and won last year.

Registration 24th of July

Registration will be at Skjellfjord Dock: Sunday 24th of July 2011 between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.

World Cup Surfski for the second time

Arctic Sea Kayak Race (ASKR) welcome you to the official ICF WorldCup for Surfski the 29th of July!

This is the second time we arrange World Cup for Surfski in cooperation with the Norwegian CanoeAssociation and International Canoe Federation. ASKR is an annual kayak festival containing events suitable for everyone – from novices to competition paddlers. – Together we are one big family -emphasizing inclusion, cohesion and the social aspect! Base camp is Skipnes in Vesterålen, North Norway. The natural surrounding backdrop invites to peace of mind and experiences that hopefully will be a memory for life.
